PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Vivid Engineering, working alongside Kiewit Infrastructure Co., provided essential services for the Central 70 Project, offering Process Control and Field and Laboratory Materials Testing. Our testing encompassed soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, shotcrete, and aggregates to ensure the project met the Colorado Department of Transportation's rigorous quality standards.
The Central 70 Project is a transformative effort to modernize a 10-mile stretch of I-70 between Brighton Boulevard and Chambers Road, a key corridor supporting 1,200 businesses and carrying over 200,000 vehicles daily. The project includes adding new express lanes, removing a 56-year-old viaduct, lowering the interstate between Brighton and Colorado boulevards, and creating a 4-acre park over part of the highway. Vivid’s meticulous testing and quality control contributed to the successful reconstruction of this critical infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and community revitalization.
